FAQs

Sunday, November 24, 2024 Kickoff 11am!

ENTRY: We are accepting entry forms until Thursday 11/21, end of business day.

WHEN: Kickoff is at 11am, but we recommend getting to the parade route early to grab a good spot.

PARADE ROUTE: The parade begins at Raymond Ave. and Holly Street, continues south 2 blocks and takes a right onto Colorado Boulevard, then ends at Pasadena Ave.

PARKING: Old Pasadena has many lots and garages to choose from.

METRO: Take the LA Metro A Line to Memorial Park station and jaunt west on Holly toward the parade route starting point or go further south and grab a spot along Colorado Boulevard.

QUEEN TRYOUTS: Queen Tryouts will be held on October 27th, 2024 at Old Towne Pub from 4-6pm. Enter via alley @ 34 E. Holly St. Doors open at 2:30pm, tryouts begin at 4pm, and the Queen will be announced at 6pm. New royal titles will be available. Each royal candidate will have 5 minutes to perform.

AFTER PARTIES: Our Official After Party will be held at the Old Towne Pub at 1pm, featuring music from Blondonna and a taco vendor. Our Official All-Ages After Party will take place at Dog Haus Pasadena, with specials commemorating the parade.

SOUVENIRS AVAILABLE: Our latest Doo Dah T-shirts can be purchased at the event in the staging area, as well as along the parade route. When you buy a t-shirt, you are supporting the whole Doo Dah Parade operation, which is nonprofit, with a percentage directly benefiting public school youth in the arts and artists in our community! Your support will bring fabulous karma your way!

PARADE TIPS FOR ENTRIES: The Doo Dah Parade has no marching order, so find a place that makes you comfortable. But remember, it’s first-come-first-serve. If you are concerned about your spot, come early. Think about what is fun in front and behind you. If you’re a band you’ll probably want to find a place that’s not in front of or behind another musical group. Entries have been really good at figuring this out! We will also have volunteers helping in this area.

Keep in mind, we want to avoid leaving trash behind. Old crowd traditions are hard to break, but those coming to watch the parade will see signage about this too.

Make sure to wear comfortable shoes unless your costume begs for something else! Bring water and snacks for before the parade.

All marching bands and art cars enter for free!

We will be Doo Dah'ing RAIN OR SHINE!!!

The Pasadena Doo Dah Parade has a rich history of bringing all things eccentric and groovy to the Pasadena community.
